
Apovit packaging – a bold brand launch into Finnish pharmacies
– The reception of Apovit effervescent tablets has been absolutely fantastic, and the packaging has received a lot of praise. Collaboration with Packdesign ID was smooth and the project progressed on schedule, guided by skilled and professional designers – the entire packaging design project was a great success!

Apovit launched for the first time in Finnish pharmacies, and as professionals in brand and packaging design, we were delighted to be involved in supporting the launch.
The launch began with the new Apovit Immune Boost effervescent tablet series, for which we designed a bold and colorful visual identity to boost visibility and differentiation for both the brand and the products. The colorful and attractive packaging helped to clearly distinguish the new range from other products in the pharmacy channel.

While we are very familiar with the pharmacy retail channel – having designed packaging for everything from cosmetics to supplements and prescription medicines for over 20 years – we still immersed ourselves in the effervescent tablet category and observed product packaging live in the pharmacy environment. What does packaging in this segment typically look like – what works and what doesn’t? How can we improve it? What is the selection process like, and how can we build a communication hierarchy that supports consumer decision-making and encourages purchase? What can we do to differentiate the brand and highlight the new range effectively?
While creativity and innovation are vital in packaging design, they are not enough on their own – thorough background research and understanding of the product category, sales channel, and purchase journey are critical to designing packaging that truly sells. Every successful packaging design is the result of careful planning, where each element is purposefully crafted – looking “nice” is not enough.
A vibrant design full of energy – flavor and color at the forefront!
After initial analysis, we moved into the concept phase and created several visual directions for the new product line. This creative exploration resulted in three visual concept options, each with strong potential, which we developed further using our proprietary Visual Environment Analysis™. In addition to visually representing the Apovit brand, a key goal was to communicate the delicious flavor experience of the products and express the energy promised by the product through packaging.

From solid planning to successful execution
We took the printing method into account from the outset, aligning design choices with final production requirements. This prevented surprises related to scheduling, costs, or visuals, allowing us to pursue bold ideas with confidence. With illustration, we paid special attention to printing techniques and ink limitations, ensuring smooth print execution and a successful final result. Our in-house illustrator is highly familiar with packaging print processes, which illustrations print as they are intended right from the start.
